This guy may not change the world but at least we’ll have more conversation about home auctions – though realtors will have to embrace the concept first:

Seems to work great when everyone is paying cash. But when you have financing and contingencies, this process may limit your exposure to a larger pool of buyers and have a negative impact on the overall sale.

Shills only work when there’s a limited supply. When there’s a large supply people just walk away once the price gets to high.

The auction process for selling houses seems to have worked for years in Australia (where this video is from). It will be interesting to see if it ever catches on in the US (I doubt it).
