I don’t do this anymore (take pictures). It is depressing to fly directly over the Dawghaus and know it is still 3 hours plus before we would be there.
Don’t get me started on the domestic “diversions” to Bradley Terminaland the 2 mile walk to the baggage carousel.
I happened to be at LAX recently and was shocked at the street access – it wasn’t much different than Lindbergh Field, and maybe worse…..after a $30 billion remodel???

LAX has gone full urban planning. Private vehicles are shunted to fourth class status. During the plandemic there was a problem with our shuttle to the hotel where we had parked about three miles away. About a mile as the crow flies if the crow were brave enough to fly across both runways. So we weighed options. Off to the Uber/Lyft station via a 15 minute free bus. Rides $100. Really. Then we opted for the Los Angeles bus that traversed 3/4th of the way. Easy, ten minutes, the driver just waved us on no charge. The new, new as in Disney 1960s people mover will make it worse. And don’t forget parking at the medium lots (e.g. Lot C) costs as much as Class A rent office space only to be coated with grime when you get back.
The long term plan is to turn Palmdale into the international transfer hub and umm do umm something to connect the two.
